25 November 2015 IFS Senior Team Champions
On 25 November the annual Inter Financial Services Cross Country Championships was held in Richmond Park hosted as usual by the Bank of England. Despite a number of members running for their company teams a senior team of Alan Barnes (2nd), Matt Munro (10th), David Evans (22nd) and Kevin Tilley (34th) won the senior men’s team. Julius Baer had two men in the first three but yet again the race showed that it is the strength of the squad that determines the outcome of a team race. Also, good to see Nationwide returning to a position of strength coming second with Barclays beating Lloyds/Ravens by a single point to snatch third place. Here is a link to the results
3 September Assembly League Results
The 3rd of September was the last in the 2015 Assembly League, the fortieth year of the League. As usual it was hosted by Beckenham Running Club at the Foxgrove Road Sports Club. The men’s A Team came second on the day driven by a second place by Ben Reynolds (M50!) and Alan Barnes in fourth. While the men’s B Team manged fourth place.
With the League completed the men’s A Team came second overall behind Kent AC while the B Team came sixth. Individually Alan Barnes comfortably won the senior men’s title while Ben Reynolds came second in the M50 class despite only running three races (the league takes each runner’s best five scores).
